Advanced Basement Solutions Ltd is a UK company serving the USA and Canadian homeowner and smaller contractor with all of their basement waterproofing needs.
The owner, Raymond Foulkes, started out as a concrete repair specialist contractor in 1990 and has 30 years experience waterproofing a wide range of concrete structures, from highways to sea defences using a variety of traditional and innovative techniques.
When asked to help fix a friend’s flooding basement in 1992, Ray developed his own perimeter drainage system linked to a sump pit by 'trial and error’. Three years later, having 'discovered' Basement Systems' Waterguard Peremiter Basement Drainage Channel at a trade show in the USA. became the pioineer of what became known as 'The American Method' of Basement Waterproofing in the UK.
Through his work with the British Structural Waterproofing Association where he served as Technical officer for several years, during which he composed the BSWA guide ‘Waterproofing Existing Basements’ Ray was instrumental in revolutinising the British Basement Waterproofing industry which had neglected the drainage method, for over a century in favour of cement coatings and plastic membranes despite their high failure rate.
Whilst the Waterguard Perimeter Basement Drainage Channel - with the built in wall drain - remains the original Basement Systems design, We have developed our own range of products including the ThermaDry, FloodBuster and flangeless Waterguard System (aka. BaseDrain), as well as mproving all of the Waterguard Drainage Channel accessories.
Unlike our competitor, Basement Systems Inc, we sell the Waterguard Drainage Channel System directly to the private homeowner and smaller contractor for self installation. We teach everything necessary to get it right first time and in doing help save our customers many thousands of Dollars over the Basement Systems' Contractor installation prices of, $75 - $100 per ft.
