WatrGuard Basement Drainage Channel is a specially engineered piping system designed to help keep basements from flooding. The flat profile enables the channel to go above the footer so it won't clog with silt and dirt washing into it (like a deeply burried drain-tile system can). The Waterguard channel requires a rebate 4" deep 6" wide around the edge of the basement floor. Contact us for advice if your floor is any thinner.
Select the WaterGuard WITHOUT the wall drain if : -
- if you do not need to protect against wall leaks (not all basements suffer from them and there are other means of dealing with them)
- you need cross-floor drainage, for example when the basement is large in large and has leaking floor cracks.
- you do not have 4" of floor concrete over the footer - requiring the channel to go in front of the footer. (Please contact us for advice if this is the case)
- you prefer to have a sealed system (the flange is open topped).
If you need the flange and want a sealed system, the flange can be extended to and sealed with urethane caulk at the top of the foundation wall with a vapor barrier.
WaterGuard is not for use in steel reinforced concrete raft foundations (aka monolithic floor/ footing)
